A recent surge in influenza-like illness (ILI) is affecting both adults and children across the Philippines. With rising cases of fever, cough, and fatigue, the need for community awareness and action has never been greater.
Children, seniors, and vulnerable individuals are especially at risk — but together, we can slow the spread through vaccination, hygiene, and early care.

Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, spreads easily through respiratory droplets from infected individuals. While it can affect people of all ages, babies, young children, and pregnant women are particularly susceptible to severe symptoms.
Vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent pertussis. The pertussis vaccine is included in the DOH Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) and it is freely provided for young children at local health care units. Additionally, vaccines against pertussis are also available for older children and adults.
Consult your doctor to learn how you can access these vaccines.
