Dr. Josefina Carlos is a Professor of the Department of Pediatrics, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. (UERMMMCI). She is a fellow of PPS, PIDSP, and PSMID. She is also a Consultant of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of UERMMMC and Philippine Heart Center (PHC). She is the President Elect of the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination.

Among her previous positions are the following: President of PIDSP in 2000-2002, Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, UERMMMCI, 2004-2007, Chair, Infection Control Committee: UERMMMCI 1986-1998, PHC, 2008-2012, Member of PIDSP Specialty Board (1996- Present), PPS Specialty Board (2004-2007; 2016-Present); member of the National Ad Hoc Committee on Flu Vaccination, 2003-2007, DOH; Chair, National Verification Committee for the Elimination of Measles, DOH: 2013-2019; Overall Chair: PPS Annual Convention, 2017; Overall Chair, 2016 PNIC Annual Convention; member of PIDSP Immunization Module, 2000-2010; Global Meningococcal Initiative (GMI, Philippine Representative) : 2013- Present;

She prepared the 1^st Recommended Immunization Schedule for PPS, PIDSP and PFV in 2000.
