Dr. Shelley de la Vega is a Professor, UP College of Medicine and Director, Institute on Aging NIH UP Manila. She is a Geriatrician and Clinical Epidemiologist. She is the President of the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination. She is the immediate past Country representative to the Asia Pacific Advisory Council for the Control of Influenza. She held many positions in the field of geriatric medicine namely, Past President of the Philippine College of Geriatric Medicine, the Founding Director of The Center for Healthy Aging and Former Chief of the Section of Geriatrics at The Medical City Ortigas. Dra. Shelley is the author of several books, chapters of books and researches about mental health, Alzheimers and geriatric medicine. She is also a clinical investigator in a clinical trial on Influenza vaccine. Dra. Shelley is a graduate of the University of Philippines College of Medicine. She had her residency training in internal medicine at the State of New York. After which, she served as the chief resident. At the Division on Aging Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA she took a two-year Fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine.
